In the year 2013, a group of Estonian musicians with a passion for virtuous grooves came together to reflect on the meaning of funk and soul. The symposium resulted in the forming of Lexsoul Dancemachine, a six-man beast of a band that made Dionysus the party god himself ask: ”Can I book you for my next orgy?” In 2015, 2×12” record with eleven tracks was forged. As their début album gets released on Terra Mariana, the oracle of Delphi predicts that it will appease today’s music lovers as well as ethereal souls waiting to be reincarnated. It is also foretold that the record will bust the hips of otherwise sophisticated people, for the music makes them dance in barbaric ways they are not used to. Socrates supposedly said: “I know that I know nothing…” What Plato and those other toga enthusiasts failed to write down was the other end of the quote: “…But I’m sure there’ll be a band one day that’ll make people contemplate the essence of true funk with an LP called Deus Lex Machina.”
